10/29 New definition of "risk regions": A "risk region" is a country or a region in which the number of infections per 100'000 population in the last 14 days is more than 60 higher than the corresponding value in Switzerland. Current risk regions are worldwide only: Andorra, Armenia, Belgium und Czech Republik. Travellers from "risk regions" have to go into quarantine in Switzerland.
10/29 New measures of The Swiss Federal Council for whole Switzerland:
  • Max. 4 persons per table in restaurants and bars
  • Restaurants and bars closed from 23 to 6 o'clock
  • Max. 10 persons can meet privatly
  • Sport and cultural activities with max. 15 persons indoors (with masks and distance)
  • Masks mandatory in outdoor areas, at secondary schools and at work
Closed or forbidden:
  • Discos and dancings closed
  • Events with more than 50 persons forbidden
  • Sports with body contact forbidden
  • Lay choirs forbidden
  • Face-to-face teaching at universities forbidden
  • Professional culture: rehearsals and performances

Distance keeping and hygienic measures remain valid. All establishments need a protection concept.
10/19 New measures of The Swiss Federal Council for whole Switzerland:
  • Gatherings of more than 15 persons in public room are forbidden.
  • Masks are compulsory inside all public rooms and on railway stations, airports and bus and tram stops.
  • Private events with more than 15 persons: consumation only when sitting, masks when standing, contact dates.
  • In restaurants, bars and clubs: consumation only when sitting.
  • Recommendation: home-office.
  • Distance keeping and hygienic measures remain valid.
07/06 Masks compulsory on all public transport. Events attended by more than 1,000 people remain prohibited until at least the end of August. Travellers from "risk regions" have to go into quarantine. A "risk region" is e.g. a country in which the number of infections in the last 14 days is higher than 60 per 100'000 population. For Switzerland this limit would mean 371 infections per day during the last 14 day.
06/25 SwissCovid-App for mobile phones is available in the App-Stores. It should help with automatic contact tracing.
06/22 New easings of measures:
  • There is no longer any limit on the number of people allowed to attend demonstrations. However, all demonstrators must wear a face mask.
  • Gatherings of more than 30 people are permitted in public spaces.
  • The recommended minimum distance to be observed between individuals has been reduced from two metres to 1.5 metres.
  • Events may be held if attended by no more than 1,000 people. If attended by more than 300 people, the venue must be partitioned into sectors each holding a maximum of 300 people.
  • Guests in restaurants, bars and clubs are no longer required to sit to consume food and drinks. The fixed closing time has been lifted.
  • Competitive sport involving close physical contact may take place.
  • The requirements for the protection of people at especially high risk have been lifted.
  • The recommendation to work from home if possible has been lifted.
06/19 The 'exceptional situation' in Switzerland ends on June, 19 and is reduced to 'special situation'.
06/15 Open boarders to countries of the Schengen area and United Kingdom.
06/06 3nd phase of easing of the lockdown. Open / permitted again:
  • Gatherings of up to 30 people (from 05/30)
  • Events with up to 300 people
  • Training for all sports
  • Classroom teaching at secondary schools and universities. Futher educational institutions

  • Mandatory schools
  • Museums, libraries, archives
  • Recreational sports activities not involving physical contact by individuals and in groups of up to 5 people
